Activities

Language course: The course consisted in an intensive 2 weeks course, of 24 hours (3 hours of lessons per day from Monday to Friday). The course has been structured as follows: Frontal intensive lessons (24 hours), with a mother tongue teacher specialised in teaching Italian to foreigners. The Beneficiaries have the opportunity to be introduced to the main grammatical rules, vocabulary, and to the main situations of a common and everyday life conversation, with particular regards to all the necessary vocabulary related to the professional field where they were going to carry out their internships.

Cultural course: The course was organized by Send in cooperation with “Eco Viaggi e cultura” a company specialized in cultural and touristic tour in Palermo and Sicily. The group had 2 different touristic tours, the first one it was a touristic tour around Palermo and the second one a tour In Selinunte archeological area and Mazzara del Vallo, a small village close to Palermo with a significant monuments.

Training activities: The Beneficiaries started the working practice the day after their arrival. The period of their internships lasted until their departure. Here are the tasks performed by trainees:

  • Support the house keeping department staff in service activities: House keeping: room cleaning; Supply of amenities in the rooms and common areas in compliance with the standards of quality of the hotel and customer satisfaction and demands.
  • Support the food and beverage department staff in service activities during breakfast time and at the bar for guests break and welcome aperitifs being in charge with table lying, decoration, different meals and beverage service handling, taking guests orders at breakfast time and at the bar.
  • Support the ICT department in all aspects related to technical support for computer equipment: installation, configuration and regular maintenance (repair and upgrade of computer equipment - personal computers, notebooks). assessment and diagnosis of
