Mobility in Lifelong Learning
Lifelong Learning - Grundtvig - In service training seminar The general objective is that of dialogue among European experts about managing mobility projects which support for developing necessary skills for training students and workers but also, in a wider sense, European citizens.

In particular the aims were:

1) Strengthening the professional identity, mostly at a European level, of experts dealing with the organisation and management of mobility actions abroad

2) Comparing operational procedures and methodologies of those who implement both sending and hosting mobility paths

3) Promoting the construction of a shared quality model at an International level relative to the organisation and management of mobility actions abroad

From 9 to 14 March 2008

Description of participants

The seminar was open to experts and operators working in the mobility field of action coming from the EU and adhering Countries. Participants mainly work in the field of training, within organisations centred on developing Erasmus, Leonardo, Socrates, Comenius, Grundtvig mobility actions, In particolar, teachers, teacher trainers, careers officers, educational guides and counsellors, headteachers, management staff dealing with mobility actions are all welcomed

Activities

The seminar  focused on difficulties and good practices implemented in mobility actions. Participants compared theoretical and practical experiences in a cooperative learning view. Reflections was oriented to reason about the possibility of constructing a quality model defining standards and indicators of key processes which characterise mobility experiences abroad. Planning, guidance, tutoring, organisation of logistics and professional placements or structuring of ad hoc training, cultural and linguistic paths, certifications’ release were key elements of discussion and confrontation. The cooperative learning method  provided for the constitution of a “community of practice” .
